In 2006, in partnership with the Fédération des producteurs de lait du Québec, Valacta set up a network of Milk Quality Technicians. Objective: help dairy producers in finding a quick solution to problems due to bacteria and high somatic cell count, in order to help improve cow health, milk quality and farm revenue.
A synergy of expertises
• Team of specialized technicians.
• Diagnostic, recommendations and efficient solutions to actual problems with somatic cells or bacteria.
•Verification of Milking Equipment and Methods : a service provided by senior technicians, equiped with cutting-edge technology, including on-farm washing-water analysis.
• Prevention, education and information support, notably for the implementation of the Canadian Quality Milk program, an initiative of the Dairy Farmers of Canada for the on-farm implementation of management standards and control procedures by the year 2012. (HACCP-type standards: Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points).
